If you’re anything like me, January tends to disappear in a haze of warm nights on the patio, school holiday shenanigans, and not much work getting done because most of your clients are off doing the same.
This January it’s going to be different!
We’re still going to have warm nights on the patio and school holiday shenanigans but we are also going to get your 2019 working year kickstarted so that your social media promotion throughout the year is structured, simple and best of all, highly effective. This three weeks of getting your social media promotion planned – and even beginning to post and schedule it – for 2019 will make your whole year run so much more smoothly but it won’t interrupt your summer fun too much. Perfect balance, right?
What will Social Media Summer School involve?
When you sign up to Social Media Summer School you’ll be added to a private Facebook group where you’ll get short training content from me each weekday, the chance to chat with your fellow students, and a Facebook live call each Wednesday evening at 7.30pm (Perth time) with additional training and the chance to have all your questions answered! (Well, unless you ask a really, really curly one!).
Social Media Summer School runs for three weeks from 7 January to 25 January and each week has a different goal:
Week 1: Your goals, your why, your message
We’ll talk about what you want to say in 2019, how best to say it on your social media platforms of choice, and how to find the audience who wants to hear it. We’ll start work on an overarching editorial calendar so that you can see how your social media promotion during 2019 will fit into your business and your life.
Week 2: Your products and services
We’ll dive deep into your existing products and/or services, and anything you want to add in 2019 – and of course, how to present these on social media without being salesy. We’ll work more on your editorial calendar with some specific ways to promote your business or blog.
Week 3: Tools to make your life easier
We’ll discuss how to make optimal use of tools like Canva, Hootsuite, Trello, and several more so you’re best equipped to run your social media promotion efficiently and still have fun doing it. And we’ll finalise that editorial calendar so that in 2019 it will be easier than ever to keep on top of your social media promotion and have plenty of time to do your actual work.
So to summarise, what you will get is:
- Daily training input from me (video/text/links/worksheets, depending on the topic) each weekday
- Three Facebook live calls with your chance to ask ALL the questions
- Brilliant support from me and your peers in a private Facebook group
- Your overarching social media content strategy ready for the year
- A head start on scheduling your social media content
- And fun!
How to join Social Media Summer School
Take your pick:
- Email me at firstname.lastname@example.org and tell me you want to join us – I’ll send you an invoice for a bank transfer of $60+GST (total $66) and as soon as your money hits my account I’ll add you to the Facebook group
- Pay by credit card via Paypal for $69 (incl. GST and card fees) – click the button below. (You might ask: why is that button so huge and blurry? I’ve asked myself the same question.)
NB: Have you been a Mastermind client of mine in 2018? I’m offering my lovely mastermind people a 50% discount so send me a message rather than using Paypal and I’ll issue a half-price invoice.
FAQ for Social Media Summer School
Do I need existing social media platforms?
Probably, yes. The Summer School won’t cover setting up any social media platforms so you’ll get the most out of it if you’ve already got, say a Facebook page and an Instagram account or LinkedIn profile set up. If you haven’t posted on them much, that’s OK – we’ll get that sorted!
How much time will it take?
Each weekday I’ll add a tiny task in the Facebook group that you can do to help you make progress – sometimes it’ll be a five-minute task, sometimes 15. There will also be a Facebook live call each Wednesday at 7.30pm (9th, 16th and 23rd January) which will last about 45 minutes – if you can’t make that time you can watch the replay afterwards but if you’re there live you can ask extra questions.
Remember, social media success is often the sum of a lot of tiny actions. Even if you don’t have time to do everything in the Social Media Summer School, you’re bound to take enough small actions that your 2019 works out way better!
Do I have to live in Western Australia to take part?
Nope! But the timing is, to be honest, optimised for my local clients – our three Facebook live sessions will be on Wednesday evenings at 7.30pm Perth (AWST) time. (Check the time conversion here to see if this might work for you.) Of course, the live sessions will be recorded and shared in the private Facebook group, so it’s definitely not the end of the world, and you’ll have the chance to submit questions ahead of time.
